well i imagine there'll be some sort of follw-up to the GBA at some
point, but i doubt we'll see it any time soon with the Ds performing
so well.

the Micro surely? The DS is 'not a gameboy' as Nintendo would put it

that logic would make the micro the GBA3.

Before the PSP and Nintendo scrambled to get the DS on the market, they must
have been working on something...?

scrambled?

they'd been working on the DS for a good while, its not like they just
cobbled it together when sony announced the PSP!

*smack* .. umm.. your 'logic' is illogical

I said the DS is NOT classed as a gameboy, therefore the Micro is the
only 'GBA' created after the GBA SP, hence could afford the title 'gba
2'

er, and what about the original GBA?

GBA = GBA1
GBA SP = GBA2
GBA Micro = GBA3

my logic makes perfect sense, dunno where you found yours, but it's
broke.

Especially since the DS was announced *before* the PSP was.

Nintendo didn't "scramble" at all, but yes, there was (and still is) a
follow-up to the GBA in development (codenamed "Evolution" at the moment).
There is, however, no GBA 2 and never was.

yes, i know that. i was pointing out that even if his logic was
correct, which it isn't, he would STILL be wrong by calling the micro
the GBA2, as it is the third incarnation of the hardware.

you weren't basing it on that though.. you were originally including the

no i wasn't.

i wasn't talking about the DS in any way, shape or form. i was merely
commenting on your statement that the micro could be called the GBA2.

But since they are incremental changes do we not have:

GBA = GBA1
GBA SP = GBA1.5
GBA Micro = GBA2

I'm not claiming I'm right but I was under the impression that the DS had
the shortest ever time from concept to marketplace for a console and this
was 'blamed' (if you like) on Nintendo getting wind of the PSP's development
and wanting to get something out there to counter it.

I don't know if that's true or not but I've definitely read that.

Very true, but I don't think anyone could have predicted by just how much,
especially in Japan.

Shortest time from previewing it to releasing it, maybe. It was in
development for much longer than that.

I'd have thought that it was pretty obvious really.

What we have is: Gameboy Advance. Game Advance SP. Gameboy
Micro.

Complex numbers consist of a real and imaginary part. So i guess you
could add a complex number together. It wouldn't make much sense,
though.

Oh come on, how would something someone calls a GBA 2 be anything other

If this were the case, then since the actual followup to the GBA was the
GBASP, then that must be the GBA2.

Considering the OP was talking about a true successor rather than a
