RIP Chris Rossiter 1998-2009
Chris Rossiter passed away Friday 11th September 2009 at noon. The end
of a long rough four years struggling against his cancer. He is
greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
This thread is to remember a genuinely inspirational gentleman. Please
keep all comments respectful and appropriate.

Re: RIP Chris Rossiter 1998-2009
Chris was truly an inspirational person, eager to help others and
share knowledge. I will truly miss you mate, you will never know how
much you helped me. A monumental loss, your potential knew no
boundry, only tragedy prevented you from realising this. You would
have been a true great person, I am sure of this. My thoughts and
feelings are with your family at this time.
Thanks for everything Chris,
Jonny

Re: RIP Chris Rossiter 1998-2009
This is very sad news. Chris was a lovely guy, and a great player.
He'll definitely be missed. My condolences to his family at this
difficult time.

year.)

Re: RIP Chris Rossiter 1998-2009
My sincere apologies for any upset the incorrect subject line has
caused. The subject line should read 1988-2009, but unfortunately I
don't think it's possible to change it. If it is possible, I will
change it as soon as possible.
RIP Chris, I will never forget the things you taught me.

Re: RIP Chris Rossiter 1998-2009
If it helps, 1998 was probably when Chris took up Magic - he was
pretty
prodigical, after all!
Sad to hear the news the other day - will always remeber the story
where Chris paid off his parents Kitchen with his illicit Poker
winnings!
Top fella.

Re: RIP Chris Rossiter 1998-2009
Whilst I cannot say that I knew Chris that well, I can say that I
played against him at a game that we all love. Chris was a total
gentlemen at the table (as well as being really bloody good). I was
so proud for him when I heard that he had made the national team in
Brighton as I knew that he had worked so hard at getting there.
You will be missed Chris.

Re: RIP Chris Rossiter 1988-2009
I first came across Chris back in early 2003 when we got paired in a
MODO draft. We got talking because he played really well and his
profile said he was from the UK, so obviously I was curious as to who
he was. He was exclusively an online player back then. From that point
on he became a regular on the #mtguk IRC channel, contributing a great
deal to the community, and began showing up at live events.
Chris was truly an excellent player at both Magic and poker, and it
was a pleasure to have played and enjoyed both with him. His results
at Nationals and the EPT Grand Final this year while struggling with
cancer show what an exceptional talent he had.
I was deeply saddened when I saw the news posted to his Facebook
profile on Saturday. Since I met Chris through Magic, I wanted to come
to this newsgroup to pay my respects to such a great guy, and offer my
condolences to his family.
Rest in peace Chris.

Re: RIP Chris Rossiter 1988-2009
Like Granty, i can't say i knew Chris all that well, playing magic
with him for the first time last year, meeting him a few months later
in Honolulu as he pursued a driving ambition to play on the tour, and
then taking the opportunity to talk with him at a bit more length in
Brighton this summer. Oddly (given the rarity of the condition) Chris
and my girlfriend, Angie, both had osteo-sarcoma in their upper
humerus. I know how that affected Angie (she is well, btw), and thus
have some understanding of the medical experiences Chris had in recent
years. I deeply regret missing the opportunity to know him better. He
was a good, kind person.

Whoa, back from my jollies to discover this. 8 (
I also didn't know Chris all that well, but was always a nice chap when I
bumped into him at random GPs and a gent when I played him. He will be
missed.
