Hello again,

The Pre-Release events at Stafford and Birmingham were a huge success;
both days were really big events with 60 players at Birmingham on
Saturday and a massive 56 players at Stafford on Sunday. The
Birmingham event was won by Tom Johnson, his fourth trophy win. Well
done Tom! The Stafford event was won by James Corwood, his second
trophy win and his second consecutive victory at Stafford. Well done
James! Thanks to you the players for coming along and making the
weekend so great. Also, thanks to Pete and Nigel for the huge amount
of work they put in as judges on both days. We have a really great
team and it is always a pleasure to work with them both. Thanks guys.

From what I was hearing, 2010 is a massive hit with everyone and it
was great to chat about the set.

How do you celebrate a huge weekend of 2010 Pre-Releases? We follow up
with a Launch party at Stafford this Sunday! I already have a lot of
pre-orders for booster boxes and fat packs, so please contact me if
you haven’t ordered already to reserve your product for collection on
Sunday at Stafford. Remember, in addition to Pre-Release participation
discounts you receive a £2 discount to the Launch Party main event
entrance fee for each booster box purchased at the event on Sunday.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

If you regularly read the Wizards of the Coast website, you will know
that with the release of this latest core set, there are some major
rules changes for Magic the Gathering. These changes have been

So without further ado here are the Release event details:

STAFFORD MAGIC 2010 LAUNCH PARTY SUNDAY 19th OF JULY 2009

Event notes

[1] This event is open to 50 players. Special promo “Ant Queen” foil
while stocks last.

[2] Price for admission is £20.00 for two reasons. Firstly, it falls
in line with Wizards of the Coast pricing guidelines and secondly
because the product given to each player to use on the day is six
Magic 2010 boosters.

[3] As an incentive to those of you who attended the Magic 2010 Pre-
Release events at Stafford and Birmingham I am running the following
promotion. If you played in either of the Stafford or Birmingham Magic
2010 Pre-Release events, I will offer a £1.00 deduction on the entry
fee into the Launch Party event. If you played in BOTH of the Stafford
and Birmingham Magic 2010 Pre-Release events, I will offer either a
£2.00 deduction in the cost of entry OR a free pack of 50 plain Ultra
Pro sleeves of the colour of your choice [while stocks last]. I
realise that this isn't an enormous saving, but I think that it
rewards my most regular players for their loyalty.

[4] Those of you who pre-ordered a box of Magic 2010 boosters from me
can also claim your £2 discount per box from the entrance fee for the
Launch Party event on top of any other discounts explained in point
[3] above.

[5] I'll be filling the traditional Grab Bag with the contents of some
Magic 2010 boosters as additional prizes.

[6] As an additional prize, I have had a winner’s trophy engraved. The
trophies are a popular part of the Pre-Release events and have been
made part of the Launch Party event tradition too.

VENUE: Oddfellows Hall, Greengate Street, Stafford, ST16 2HP.

venue before.

START TIME: Enrolment from 9:30am till 10:30am. Deck construction will
start at about 11:00am.

FORMAT: The format for the Launch Party tournament is DCITM-sanctioned
Magic 2010 Sealed Deck.

Rules Enforcement Level: Competitive

ENTRY FEE: £20.00 for main event

Cost of entry includes six (6) Magic 2010 boosters.

PRIZES: As per Wizards of the Coast premier event prize structure.

SIDE EVENTS: Booster Draft side events available all day long.

ENTRY FEE:  £10.00 for Booster Drafts (12 Boosters as prizes split
5/3/2/2)

Future Events 2009

August – NO EVENTS

September – Saturday 26th – Birmingham – Zendikar Pre Release
September – Sunday 27th – Stafford – Zendikar Pre Release

Zendikar Pre-Releases are scheduled for the end of September. More
details to follow as they are announced.

October – Sunday 4th – Stafford – Zendikar Launch Party

The Zendikar Launch Party event will happen the following weekend at
Stafford. This is the first chance to buy Zendikar singles, boosters,
boxes, intro packs and fat packs.
