FanBoy), at this weekend’s Pro Tour Qualifier we’ll be donning fancy
dress, giving American themed spot prizes and making sure every single
player who makes Top 8 walks away with at least £17.76 worth of
FanBucks (Fan Boy Three Store Credit)!

What’s a Pro Tour qualifier? It’s a chance for players from all over
the country to flex their decks as they play for a place on the
infamous Pro Tour – a year long party that rewards the best players in
the world with cash prizes just for playing Magic. That prestigious
place comes complete with flights to the Pro Tour in question – in
this case, it’s Pro Tour Austin, Texas – and the format is Standard
just like we play at Fan Boy Three every Friday night.

Anyone can play, and literally anyone could win. And at Fan Boy Three,
we make sure everyone walks away with at least a booster at every
major event we run, so everyone wins.

And remember – 2010* is just around the corner with the second biggest
Prereleases in the UK scheduled for next weekend. So let’s get the
Magic party started early, with PTQ Austin at Fan Boy Three this
Saturday!

But hold on just one cotton picking minute there, pardner. There’s
more to Fan Boy Three than just Magic, despite the imminent Pro Tour
qualifier, Grand Prix Trial, Two Prereleases, Three Launch events,
brand new base set, Grand Prix Brighton and UK Nationals. July has
Celestial Edition for L5R, two Gold series tournaments for Yugioh and
the start of the Summer Cup, the return of big prize Pokemon, Warcraft
AND Huntik Regionals, release events for Star Wars Miniatures,
Monsterpocalypse (and Magic: 2010!)

*That’s Magic: 2010, the latest core set complete with 50% all new
cards, not the year which, as far as I’m informed by the DCI, will be
still coming right on schedule the day after December 31st. Phew – if

guys... I like my Yugioh Prereleases...)

WHAT’S HAPPENING WITH MAGIC?
July is once again Magic Month at Fan Boy Three, what with our
Independence Day PTQ for Austin on the fourth, a weekend of Magic:
2010 Prerelease action on the 11th-12th and the usual Launch Event
portfolio of events on the 17th-19th which includes your chance to
earn three byes at Grand Prix Brighton this August.

This Saturday we’ll also be hosting a trio of the UK’s finest judges –
the UK’s number one Pro Magic Judge Nick Sephton, Ray Fong and Colin
Ward to make sure your tournament runs to the highest professional
standard.

In other news, Team Fanboy’s very own Thomas Joseph came in joint
third in the Yugioh European Championships Under 13’s event.  Mega
congratulations to Tom and to Gary Cadwallader who we understand
finished the main event in the high thirties. Fantastic performances
all round!
