Re: flights to PT Hollywood
Since we're largely car avoiding by American standards, here's how to get
the bust from the airport to the Hyatt:
http://socaltransport.org/tm_pub_start.php?place0=lax&place1=2025+Avenue+of+the+Stars&day0=Today&timecrit0=LV&hour0=3&min0=00&m0=P&fare=RG&evaluateButton.x=27&evaluateButton.y=5

Or if that doesn't work,
http://www.metro.net/default.asp
Is the default public transport in LA (which the locals will mostly assure
you is really a bit of an oxymoron) website. In reality, the buses run
pretty well on time, although the usual European flights land ~3ish, from
recollection, so that will likely have you on a bus hitting rush hour.
Should be possible on the metro system too, but 3 changes. It is quite
cheap, and the dollar is still pretty worthless.

If you are getting a car, Hollywood is plagued with parking troubles, so do
some research.

Not yet sure if I'll see you there.

From the Century Plaza website:

Transportation
To/From LAX:

Super Shuttle - offers 24-hour service, 7 days a week to and from LAX/
Century City.

Arriving guests will find a Shared Ride island outside of each baggage
claim area. Look for blue vans with yellow lettering marked "Super
Shuttle."
Departing guests make reservations 24 hours in advance of leaving the
hotel for LAX. Phone: 800-258-3826 (outside California), or
310-782-6600 (inside California).
Cost: $13.00 each way

Taxis - can be found curbside on the Lower/Arrival Level islands in
front of each terminal under the yellow sign indicating Taxis.
Passengers will be presented with a ticket stating typical fares to
major destinations.
Only authorized taxis with an official seal issued by City of Los
Angeles Department of Transportation on each vehicle are permitted in
the airport. It is illegal for any transportation services to solicit
fares, and travelers using such services do so at their own risk.
Departing guests should speak with the hotel concierge to arrange
transportation back to LAX.
Cost: approximately $35.00 each way
