1)	PTQ KUALA LUMPUR HIGH WYCOMBE REMINDER



As you are all most likely aware the second of our PTQ's for Kuala
Lumpur is this weekend in High Wycombe.

The format for this event is Lorwyn Sealed deck (1 Lorwyn Tournament
Deck & 2 Lorwyn Boosters) with the entrance fee being £15.  If you
wish to pre-register please email us on events@theplaceforgames.com
with your DCI number (you have one), if you do not have a DCI number
please email us your name and we will sort you out with a DCI number
on the day.

2)	THE PLACE FOR GAMES MORPHS INTO ALL STAR GAMING WITH SOME BIG
CHANGES AHEAD FOR 2008



Everything changes. We are revamping and refocusing our events going
into 2008. From the 1st January we will be running our events under
the banner of All Star Gaming. This change has been made to separate
different parts of our business from each other.

We choose the name All Star Gaming because we feel that with the
support and help, we and the players who take part in our events can
provide we can help make you a star of your chosen game. We want our
non premier events to be seen as an opportunity to grow your play
skill and help you develop.

As part of this exercise we have looked hard at the areas of the South
East we currently support with events. As some of you may know we have
had a lot of problems this year with our regular venue in Colchester,
Essex. This has meant us using the Rose and Crown on several
occasions. This venue is too expensive to support regular play and
with the addition of some very good clubs that have sprung up around
Essex we have seen players drift off to support their local organiser
which is great for the development of Magic locally. But it means that
after a lot of soul searching we have come to the conclusion that we
can no longer offer a viable regular tournament in Essex. We did not
want to just run premier events when available as this would not be
fair to the local organisers putting in regular support. The only
event we had planned for 2008 was the Regional Qualifier for World of
Warcraft TCG; this event will now be cancelled.

Stopping running events in Colchester was not an easy decision but we
feel it will allow for better growth in Essex and allow us to focus
our energies in other locations during 2008.

We have also looked at what games we support in 2008, the only change
we will make is to stop supporting UFS.

During 2008 we will look to implement some new ways of running
tournaments such as the Standard Day Challenges which allow players to
develop their play skills and decks ready for major competitions.

We all feel this refocusing and expansion of activity at our remaining
3 locations, High Wycombe, Hemel Hempstead and Maidenhead will provide
an even better environment to play TCG's.

The All Star Gaming website will be finished in mid January and will
be solely focus on event activity.

3)	HEMEL GAMES CLUB CHRISTMAS RAFFLE AND CHRISTMAS DATES



As we quickly approach Christmas it is time to plan the raffle. We
will have the raffle on the 18th December, the last week of this year.

Unfortunately the club funds are not as healthy as we would like, this
means that this year's raffle will not be as big as the summer or last
year. Also we can't make the raffle night a free night as normal.

Carl will be adding some prizes for the TCG's players that won't be
coming for club funds and if you have any unwanted games we will
gratefully accept them for the raffle.

The raffle will operate under the following rules:-

1.	You will get 1 raffle ticket for attending on the 18th December
2.	You will get 1 raffle ticket for every two times you have attended
since the summer
3.	You must attend in person to take part in the raffle
4.	Only one prize will be available per person
5.	No alternative prize will be available

We will get the club funds back on track during 2008 and we will make
a decision about a summer raffle in May.

Our first week back will be the 8th January.
