OT : Gaming problem : server has refused connection
Sorry if this is OT to any group, but i'm pulling my hair out!
The one and only game I play has decided to stop working.

It's called "Battlefield 2".

When i try to login to the account server at the start of the game, it
'pauses' for what seems like an age, and then I get the message "the
server has refused the connection".

I have uninstalled and re-installed the game, Googled, patched the game
and anything else ending in 'ed' but to no avail.

I have also removed the software firewall off my PC to see if that is
the problem. It didn't resolve it.

One thing that has prompted me to post, is the the fact that the Gamespy
site, who I believe are 'in bed' with Electronic Arts, is also very,
very slow, and in some cases times out. I believe Gamespy may have
something to do with the servers to which my games is connecting? I've
only gauged that through historic postings found on Google. It may be
incorrect.

This has got me thinking maybe there is a DNS or routing issue going on?
Do AAISP (my Internet provider) have problems connecting me to the
servers I'm trying to use maybe?

Both the site, and my game, always worked, and worked well, but on
Sunday, it all stopped. I changed nothing, installed nothing. I was
playing the game, stopped for a cup of coffee, re-loaded the game, and
BAM! No connection.

Everything else relating to the Internet or my network seems fine.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me please? I can't find any
"server status" pages for Electronic Arts or Gamespy, but in all
honesty, I know not where to look. Neither can I find any support forums
for the game....

Help!

Yeah same here, also affecting BF2142 :(

I had this a mopnth or so ago and got some shite response from EA about

Looks like all their servers are f'd up, cos I though Oh I'll just have a
game of BFV instead, and there is no list of servers being retrieved from
master.

Counter Strike: Source?

Couldn't get into it. Just found the maps/scenarios to be less than
attractive in the longer term.

Looks like all their servers are f'd up, cos I though Oh I'll just have a
game of BFV instead, and there is no list of servers being retrieved from

Gotta say it... "me too!"

No 2142 for ages. So I finally log on last night for a fest and ten
minutes later its... "I'm going to bed. Are you?"

I had this a mopnth or so ago and got some shite response from EA about
my graphics card not be suitable/supported, which was a total crock of
shite.

Games used to work then didn't and then came back again.

EA as normal are handling this like a bunch of amateurs, not saying
whats going on. I guess exploits or DDoS is affecting them and rather
than work with the community they 'kick sand in our faces'.

Ho hum, back to Steam, least that works 100% of the time

Yeah same here, also affecting BF2142 :(

I had this a mopnth or so ago and got some shite response from EA about
my graphics card not be suitable/supported, which was a total crock of
shite.

Games used to work then didn't and then came back again.

EA as normal are handling this like a bunch of amateurs, not saying
whats going on. I guess exploits or DDoS is affecting them and rather
than work with the community they 'kick sand in our faces'.

Looks like all their servers are f'd up, cos I though Oh I'll just have a
game of BFV instead, and there is no list of servers being retrieved from
master.

Re: Gaming problem : server has refused connection
i`ll think you`ll find the other night all ea games that required you to
log-in to the ea master server
buggered up as i tried bf2 and bf 2142 to which both where down all night,
the oly thing i can put it down to is the
ea master server crashed as when i checked the my clans game server i rented
useing the bf2142 cc software there was no one on
