Stratagemo: new Stratego-like program
Stratagemo plays a Stratego variant. There is also the very useful
randomization variant, with a limited heuristics so as to avoid overly
awkward positions. In my variants the Disarmer (Miner) can also defuse
friendly mines (bombs), which is logical, of course. Due to this it's
more attractive to create an unbalanced setup. One can block one, or
even two flanks, with mines. Nevertheless, one can later attack on
this flank by removing a mine with a Disarmer. One can also wholly
enclose one or more Disarmers behind bombs where they are protected,
for later use in the endgame. However, I have not yet tried out how
useful these strategies are. There is a mini version, too, suitable for
creating game diagrams. One can create and save favourite setups.
