IL PRINCIPE Rule error
The inventor has confirmed to me that there is an error in the printed
rules.

The rules clearly state that for the final turn of the game Phase 1 is
omitted.

Phase 1 involves dealing 4 cards to each player and also giving each
player 5 money chips. So by omitting all of this players normally
find they have so little money for this final turn that there's very
little they can do. (And since in a five-player game there are only 5
turns anyway, this tends to reduce it to only 4 truly active turns,
which is much too short)

I know that many are curious as to the reason why no money is
distributed on this final turn and have often made their own house rule
that it should be. Well, we have now had it confirmed that it was an
error.

In other words, whilst there is no final deal of cards to each player
there should still be the handing out of cash as normal.

the mark I apologise!)

Thanks for the post, Derek. I certainly haven't heard it before. While the
game has been played by several people in my group I have not yet managed to
play it myself - and it always pleases me when I can sit down to play a my
first game with veterans and then tell them that they play the game wrong
:-)
