Primary Framework compulsory?
I'm still not sure if the Literacy and Numeracy units in the new
Primary Framework are compulsory or are suggestions.
We use Navigator Dimensions for Literacy, which is based on the NLS.
It was published in 2005, but we've only been using it since Sept.
2007.
We bought it in the summer term 2007. The rep. told us it would meet
current requirements.
Now our Literacy consultant wants to spend a morning in school showing
us how to plan one week's worth of Literacy lessons based on a text.
We already have detailed weekly and daily lesson plans, with texts and
other resources, in Dimensions.
Now we seem to be going back to the days of the first Literacy
Strategy when teachers cut and pasted plans - only to have these
replaced a couple of years later with ready-made plans.
I don't want to repeat that scenario.
