Mower out
OK. The weather's gorgeous.
The mower's out.
Anyone got anything they want cutting?

I hope there's no expectation that my displays will get changed.

Not from me.
I do large lettering on the pooter now.
I used to spend hours cutting out fancy letters.
I know you can buy them, but I'm not doing that either.

I meant from anyone in school or my LEA. I have a class of 30 year 3 and
4 children, 6 of whom cannot yet read at a standard that gets them to
the stage 4 Oxford Reading Tree books, and one of those is looked after
by severely deaf grandparents. In addition 1 other child is on the
asperger's spectrum, 2 have dyslexia (1 receives out of class support
once a week) and 1 has dyspraxia. I'll have enough on my plate trying to
do them all justice, and will have more than enough for the one morning
support TA to do without worrying about displays.

Umm...
I have to draw up a plan for boards. It would be quicker to do them
myself, which is how it ends up.
The TAs are there when the children are and we can't put up classroom
displays when the treasures are in the rooms.

Yup. One TA once a week when the children are there is all I have. And
as she doesn't start work until 9am I'm lucky if I get a chance to talk
to her before they come through the door. She also has a 15 minute break
during class time because she has to be outside with the little darlings
at the 'proper' breaktime. And assemblies are now in the afternoons so I
can't even beg 5 minutes out of assembly time to talk to her. We have to
do it on the hoof.

That so rings a bell.
I had a TA who used to arrive exactly when the lesson started and then
sat there with a face on her cos she didn't know what she was supposed
to be doing.
She then left 15 min early cos she was also a dinner lady.
I solved it by writing her work for the day in an exercise book that I
put on her table so she had no excuse for not reading it when she
arrived.
Not having an excuse also annoyed her.
