Afternoon out
No rain today, so an afternoon out to Penarth. Really warm, sitting
eating ice cream on the pier.

Yep. I bought a sunlounger months ago. This is the first day I've
bothered to use it. Must use it a few more times before Sept.

It was the first day without a shower for us too. We climbed the Tor.
Little Sam is absolutely exhausted, which is strange given that his
mother carried him up (and down) in the baby carrier rucksack
thingumabob.

Andrew bought me a singing bowl from the singing bowl shop in
Glastonbury High Street :-) It is supposed to be my birthday present
(several weeks early) but I had to have it to practise making it sing.

It'll be the altitude. More to the point, how's grandma?

Great walk up the Tor. Did you walk right up from Chalice Wells
(Chilkwell Street) or go the easy way and drive up to Stone Down Lane
(round the back) so that you were already half way up?

Ah. I remember Glastonbury before it went hippy.

Yeahbut - everything a baby sees is new and requires learning.

Erm... We didn't use the car. Our cottage is in Bove Town. We
walked down to the top of the High Street and then along a road a bit
and started up past some prayer wheels - which I turned in obediance
to the sign. We walked down the other route which brought us past the
Chalice Well Garden (which we took my Mum to yesterday, and she
managed to walk up as far as the Lion's head but not quite to the Well
itself - she is wobbly on her feet and the stick gets stuck in the
funny paving :-(

I don't object so much to the hippy aspect - that is at least
"Western". What I cannot understand is all the Buddhism and Indian
mysticism. But I do like my singing bowl. It is packed up for the
journey home now, so I can't practise making it sing any more :-(

I'm fine, thanks. It was a pleasant walk, and I did need to change my
sweaty shirt and have a sit down for a drink when I got back to the
cottage. However I regained enough energy to go down the High Street
for the last time (this trip) before shop-closing time :-)

It still does, but the hippies are too spaced out to notice, man.
