Dragins Dun
OK, Sheeel... how bout you and me pair up for a presentation on Dragon's
Den with the pop-sock-to-keep-the-badnages-in-place-and-clean-at-less-
than-the-twentyome-squid-boots-the-ripoff-wanted-for-a-medicalated-
alternative idea?

We could ask for quarter of a million pounds to develop the idea and set
up production. In return we could offer 5% of the company, but actually
be prepared to raise that to 30% for the right Dragon.

They'd be bound to be excited. We'd be quids in cos we could cream off
some of that money for our salaries (we won't tell them that cos it
tends to annoy them if people want money to actually live off whilst
they are working their fingers to the bone) and then we'd make a tidy
sum out of the profits when we went into production.

Or sell short sections of the net stuff.

Did the pop sock work?

Ahbut you only get one section. With our produkt you get a guaranteed
bogof every time.

We wouldn't be patenting it and expanding the business if it didn't. Of
course, it would be no good without my special secret recipe cuff where
the new hole is.

I didn't have a white one - and neither did the local Asda store, but a
'natural' one is doing the job.

I think we need to disguise the fact that we is using popsocks, on
account of the fact that if we don;t, everyone else will jus use
popsocks instead of our product. This is the only little flaw in the
plan, but as long as we call us something like "Definitely-Not-Popsocks
Under Strain" I think we should be OK.

So - no PUS then?

How about Medical Rights Surgical Association?

Did the popsock last the night?

Any improvements necessary?

You may not need a cuff on either end. The net stuff is the same all
the way along.

I think we need to think about colours and patterns.
How about Union Jack or Olympic ones?
Or autumn ones?
Or matching bandages?

Maybe we should sell packs of 3, so your arm matches your legs.

MRSA for the company then, but the product should have an easily
remembered name. Something short and catchy...
How about calling it an "Outer Wall"

We could time the launch to coincide with our limpycs (we should have
got through the dragon's cash in 4 years) - there are bound to be plenty
of injuries about then.

By the way - good news... extensive testing in the field has proved that
the product passes the acid test. Everything stayed in place through a
restless night.

You need a cuff to stop the net stuff on the 'raw' end stretching - so
it's no use trying to cut me out of the company that way :Þ

A range of gruesome kids ones simulating gaping wounds and horrific
maiming injuries should go down a storm.

> Maybe we should sell packs of 3, so your arm matches your legs.

Hmmm... not sure about that. It would mean reorganising the original
pairs (I assume we're just going to use the readily available product,
sticking a label over the original box and slipping in a set of
instructions for "preparing the surgical covering for use by breaking the
sterile opening (ie cutting the toe off and turning the cuff) rather than
do any work of our own). The 3 set idea would also do away with our
unique lifetime BOGOF offer.

Well done for the blue-sky thinking and touching base and keeping me
in the loop. It's important that we're on the same page and can hit
the ground running.

I'm going to give it 150% and I need the same sort of commitment from

Is the Pope German?

BTW. I was doing some market research in Tesco just now - searching
for earphones in vain - and got a brainwave - a waterproof range. Then
you can still have your weekly shower.

I have had two successful showers wearing a DHL Express parcel bag on my
arm, secured with elastic bands. Maybe we could use that as a starting
point. I think it should be a separate removable sleeve rather than a
waterproof Outer Wall [working title for MRSAs popsock thingie] though.
That way we can charge twice - once for the product and once for the
optional accessory.

There's more good news following further extensive field tests.
Everything stayed in place through a cycle ride, even with two layers of
clothing sitting on top of the appliance and rubbing against it.
