Cardiff Bay
Although it was raining this morning, my wife & I had a lovely afternoon
walking around Cardiff Bay in the sunshine eating ice cream, as well as
drinking coffee overlooking the water. This made up for a 15 minute
queue to pay at IKEA earlier.

Hah! It's your own fault for going to Ikea in the first place.

In some things I have no choice, and this was one.

Yes... but it's an even worse experience than going to a store.

It's amazing how people will put up with a bad shopping experience
because of a trendy name.

I've never been to IKEA cos I've heard about the ludicrous checkout
system.

Saying that , one of our teachers went and bought some nice carpet
circles for the kids to sit on.

They have some trendy fabric which always goes down well in school...

We were buying things in anticipation of daughter going off to uni for
the first time. It all depends on Thursday's results now.

I know the feeling. We're waiting to find out how God-daughter number 2
got on, and she's getting decidedly nervous.

What I object to is having to walk round the whole bloody store in their one
way system when I only want one thing.

There are little doorways tucked away where you can disappear from one
area of the store and immediately re-appear in another, rather like the
port key portal thingies in Harry Potter.

Reminds me of when I took a 3 year old boy to Madame 2swords.
He was petrified of the Dr Who section, but we had to go through it,
hood over head, eyes closed and hands over ears.

IKEA reminds you of Mme Tusauds? Do you suggest walking through IKEA
with hood over head, eyes closed and hands over ears? Would it help?

I suggest not going in unless you have a couple of spare days.

I suppose there must be a good/bad time to go in, but there isn't one
near me.
