Lappin pelerin at the Pyrenees
Hi Folks,
Yer intrepid lappin pelerin is now havin a rest at St Jean Pied-de-
Port. This time I decided on beer before postin to newsgroup and this
is my second rest day here. It is really good to have crossed France
at last. It was a pretty hard slog sometimes. Now I'm goin to go
slowly along the Spanish part of the journey and just enjoy the rest
of the walk. Only five hundred miles to go...

Wot dramatic photos xactly? Rabits fallin orf the mountains?
<chortle... practises dramatic plummet>
At the moment, the norty mountains is shrouded in cloud, mist and
rain. Hopin things improves for the upward rabit marchin tomorrow.
Plan to leave St Jean Pied-de-Porte at 7 am and hope to make the
crossin into Spain in eight hours includin an hour's lunch stop. Just
returned to the pooter café from gettin my supplies for the day from
Intermarché. Very carefully selected all sorts of light stuff for
lunch, so it won't be too much to carry; like thin slices of ham,
small goat's cheese and very light crackers, small packet of olives,
etc. Then I goes and messes up the whole weight-watchin plan with a
bottle of Premières Cotes de Blaye 2006, weighin a whole kilo.
Expect dramatic upload of rabit photo on the blogue at about midday
your time.

Re: Lappin pelerin at the Pyrenees
I see rabits are not very clever. They complain that they hardly ever
see any other pilgrims. Well, if they are all walking in the same
direction the only other pilgrims that will be seen are those you
overtake or who overtake you!
Now if the rabit were to start a new trend and do the pilgrimage in
reverse, I'm sure he would meet many more pilgrims as they would all be
going the other way!

Do they all carry a portable curtain pole?
Will the airline let you on with it?

Update from yer intrepid lappin pelerin - ah, whoops, we´re in Spain
now - so it´s yer intrepid conejito peregrino...
I´ve walked off 1 lb today then. Over the Pyrenees then an extra 24
km. I´ve done a 50km walk day and I'm just havin my fourth beer to
recover. It´s a hard life piligrimmin.

I´ve been thinkin about that. Wot´s the name of that bloke wot runs
Ryanair? I´ll email him and tell him the curtain pole is involved in
a normously portant charity fundraisin event wot is benefittin
disabled kids normously though not as normously as wos hoped, and he
may let the curtain pole on free...? Wot do you reckon?

Funnily enough, I just purchased some new underpants in a market
yesterday, and bein somewhat shy of tryin on new underpants in a
market square, I erried on the side of larger rather than smaller.
There was Large, Xtra Large, or Xtra Generously Endowed and I went for
the latter, for the sake of pride. So, I'll try insertin the pole and
see if this `ploy might work at the airport in August.
"Have you anythin to declare, that rabit in large underpants with a
