Exactly.  Meaning that in northern England it gets dark earlier than
in London.  For half the year.  So things balance out.

In the West of Oireland it's light almost to 11 pm as it's so far west
but in the same time zone as us.

Don't confuse me with time zones!  Those I cannot get my head around.
I just assume that when I am awake, the rest of the World is asleep.
That takes care of time zones.

But does that mean that in the winter it goes dark at about 2.00 in the 
afternoon?
