RM NET USE Command
Apologies if this is totally the wrong group.
My company installs IP based CCTV in schools and we have a customer who is
using RM. I need to create a drive mapping from the PC that is being used to
view the images to the PC that is holding the images.
Whenever I set up a drive mapping for the caretaker in windows it is wiped
out next time he logs in. I have tried using NET USE command but he doesn't
seem to be allowed to use this. The administrator says that this is an RM
restriction. I don't know if he is right or not as politics are entering the
arena.
Are there any RM users here? Is there any way that a permanent drive mapping
can be set up?
Thanks for your help.

Yes, in the RM control panel (I think - I've not used RM Connect in many, many
years). However, would a shortcut on his desktop/start menu/my docs to the UNC
path of the share not be sufficient?

Re: RM NET USE Command
Cant you put the appropriate command in a server startup script, which
assigns the drive letter to the appropriate path whenever windows starts up?

There is a facility within the RM management console to do this.
Select the machine properties in the management console, and then the
drive mapping tab, remove the tick from the "use default servers" box
(might not be the exact wording, I'm not at work), select the required
drive letter, put the name of the machine in the server box, and the
share in the share box, and the drive will map on that machine every
time.
