estimating KS3 levels in non core subjects?
There is a lot of data to estimate potential KS3 english, maths and science
from KS2 results but does anyone know of a useful way in which I can
estimate likely levels in non core subjects?

Anyone use a regression from KS2 to KS3 ?
Anyone know suitable equations?
Anyone have enough data to enable this to be worked out?

Re: estimating KS3 levels in non core subjects?
I went to an excellent data managers day last December when the county
statistician did a brilliant presentation showing how no matter what
elaborate statistical formulae you apply to KS2 SAT scores to set
national average targets for KS3 they all have no more correlation
than take their KS2 SAT score and add 1 level.

Basically don't waste any time trying to set worthwhile targets for
KS3. I personally have used SIMS assessment manager and sued the
value added lines they release from the previous years exam data (old
Autumn package data) to calculate the English, Maths & Science end of
KS3 targets. Then all core subjects get one of these targets e.g.
history get the English target and ICT get the Science.
