OT: musical (folk) bargain
I got an iTunes voucher for my birthday (yesterday), so had a scour
around on the iTMS.

I bought 'Pentangling', 61 tracks for £9.48. Now that's a guitar sound
that Castle speakers were made for!

Never mind, they have fans here too. Have they re-mastered the tracks?
The sound on my Pentangle CDs isn't great.

It doesn't say so, but the release is 2004, and it sounds very good to
me.

Just had a look on Amazon and the CD is listed as "2008"; tempting...
Hope you caught the Bert Jansch 60th b-day concert repeated recently
on BBC-4.

No I didn't, in fact, I only just found out how stunning his playing is
after buying this album - I'm actually a relative folk newbie.

Oh well, it's bound to be shown again; everything on BBC-4 seems to
come around every 6 mths or so. The whole BBC Sessions at St Luke's
series is worth catching.

Also highlights from the Cambridge Folk Festival will be shown on
BBC-4 from 29th Aug.

Righto. It doiesn't appear to be on iPlayer either (not that I can get
it to work often anyway).

Cheers, I'll keep an eye out for that.
