surfing very slow
I'm in the UK for a short while and have just subscribed to '3' broadband
internet over the mobile phone network. I get very high speeds when
downloading, eg, program files, podcasts or anti-virus updates, but very
slow (similar to old dial-up) speeds when surfing the net: this happens
whether I use Opera, Maxthon or IE7. Emails seem also to be slow. Is this
normal? Is there a way to speed up surfing? TIA

UK uses ADSL and download is always faster than upload by design.
Typically, an 8Mbps ADSL line will limit upload speed to about 250
to 500kbps, so faster than dialup, but not by as much as some of us
would like..
