Recommend a PCI-E graphics card for Apple CRT on Dell PC?
I need a recommendation for a graphics card so I can run an Apple CRT
monitor on my Dell PC. The Apple monitor has no on-screen controls
other than brightness and contrast. Everything else has to come from
a suitable graphics card.

My Intel on-board graphics has no adjustments available, so I need a
new graphics card that will do this for me.

The PC is a two year old Dell Dimension DM051 with a Pentium D CPU
running at 2.8 GHz. It has 1 GB of RAM. The card I need will plug
into a PCI Express slot.

I would like to keep the cost of the card to a minimum. I am not
interested in spending £100 or more. A used card would be fine as
long as it is fully working.

Any help, advice and recommendations will be gratefully received.

Your best bet is to get the specs for that model (?) monitor from the
Apple site and check that any graphics cards you may look at can support
it. You need to find its' *native* resolution, refresh/vertical scan rate &
horizontal scan frequencies. Try a few Mac-based groups and/or forums -
someone will probably have already done it, as Mac monitors are usually
of rather good quality. Most nVidia and ATI based PCIe graphics
cards I've seen have some frame position adjustment, but it might not be
enough if you can't run it at its' native spec.
