Problem - 1 LAN PC has no internet connectivity
Hi
I have a conventional home network- a 4 port wireless ADSL router connects
via several switches to various PCs all running Windows XP.
All was working fine until recently, when one PC finds itself unable to
connect to the internet.
It can browse network shares on other PCs, but cannot ping any internet
addresses, nor even the router (configured as 192.168.0.1 in my setup).
Looking at the post above (problem with dual network ports) I may have a
similar problem, so here is the ipconfig /all and route print output:

The suspicious thing to my mind is the physical address of the NIC- reported
as 00-00-00-00-00-00.
As you can see the PC has a DTV capture card (Hauppauge) which XP treats as
a Network interface. AS I say, this has all been working fine till the other
day, so I'm a bit stumped.
TIA for any help
Neil

To mine too. I suggest you go to Device Manager and uninstall it, then
rediscover it with "scan for changes" and allow PnP to reinstall it. Maybe
also download the latest drivers, although that's probably irrelevant as
the old ones were working fine once upon a time.

Thanks for that- tried it- no joy.
I've plugged in a USB wireless dongle and the Internet is available
straightaway, so it's definitely a problem with the NIC.
I updated the drivers for the NIC and still no joy.
I'm off to blag a PCI NIC, and I'll disable the mobo onboard NIC and report
back
Cheers

Well, I just bunged in a cheapy NIC, disabled the onboard adapter and it
works again !
How very strange that I could access the network from the PC, and vice
versa, but absolutely no Internet access...
Anyway it's sorted, but I'd still love to know what the problem was !
