OT: How to pretend my PC has 3 GB not 4 GB?
Even after considerable googling (or maybe that should be *because* of
considerable googling), I'm still confused about the implications of
having 4 GB on my (32 bit) XP Pro PC. Can the experts straighten me
out please?

Some specific questions I have are these:

1) What RAM is my PC *really* using?

2) Is the rest simply 'wasted', pending my possible future shift to
Vista (or 64 bit XP Pro)?

3) One of my favourite applications, Google Earth, has a bug that
apparently only occurs on 4 GB+ PCs. (Most of the reports are about
Vista, but the same symptom occurs on my XP Pro PC too.) Vista users
have somehow rebooted their systems to act as if they had 3 GB. How
can I do that on my XP Pro PC please, so that I can check if it solves
the problem?

Me? Of course I haven't read it - just looks interesting and has /3GB
somewhere in the middle - so must be relevant, must it? :-p

Of course relevance would be the key word here - To the OP, What is the
problem with Google earth. Why not yank out some of the memory sticks....
