Virginmobile deal for broadband customers
I have just checked the current situation with the deal Virgin offer
Until the end of January and if you have a broadband service from them
they are offering 3x the normal deal ( was 100m+100t)
Assuming you already have a suitable mobile and just want a cheap phone
service, they are offering a 300m+300t service for only £10 a month.
No contract, no tie-in PROVIDING you have their broadband service.
I assume they're responding to Talk-talk deals?
Given they use the T-mobile network, coverage is excellent and this was
too good to turn down so I just ordered mine
More here:

I hope this is of use

They've been doing the 300 + 300 offer for many many months, they did drop
it down to 100 + 100 for a month or so some time back but brought it back.
You just need to be in their cable area, don't have to be a broadband
customer, you just need one of their other services, be that broadband,
phone or TV.

I had Virgin ADSL max and it was useless, with it throttled down to dial up
speeds at most times.
Most other Virgin ADSL uses also complained of the same thing
Virgin Cable Broadband should be OK, I used to have it when they were
NTLworld.
I would never again have Virgin ADSL

Yeah, the 100+100 is with a phone, the 300+300 is SIM only.

That confuses me.
Virgin (who are still NTL but rebranded) only utilise BT phone cables
and BT service and re-sell it.
They can only deliver what BT allow and 8Mb (or whatever you tried) is
only the theoretical maximum and will only be available if you are next
door to the exchange!
In short - they are a reseller who are unlikely to disadvantage you any
differently than any other provider.

Errr.. Nope, Virgin and Tesco for years have offered ADSL
hosted by NTLworld, which Virgin bought out. (and throttled)
and now Virgin TV/Broadband over Cable which was NTL TV/cable
Cable can offer much higher speeds
(you do of course have to be in a cable area)
I would go for the latter, (which I used to have as NTL Cable)
but never again the former (throttled ADSL Max)

or, Nope.
Virgin didn't buy out NTL.
NTL and Telewest merged.
NTL:Telewest then bought Virgin Mobile and rebranded to use the name Virgin
Media, Richard Branson became a 10.5% shareholder, Virgin Media have to pay
Virgin for using the name.
It is NTL who are still running the business they just pay to use the Virgin
name.

Just the name that changed, NTL:Telewest pay Virgin to use the Virgin name.

Errrrh - you are wrong and how daft to challenge another persons
statement without doing your homework.
I won't bother repeating what {{{{{Welcome}}}}} has said - cos (s)he is
spot on
I now cable is better and I know what DSL or ADSL is.
As I said, NTL (or any other ADSL provider for that matter) use BT
network and BT exchanges and it is BT who actually offer the
infrastructure for DSL connections.
Similar to Virgin mobiles - who use T-mobile network!
