SWAP: Powermac 5500 + bits + older software
Hello,
A sort-of spring clean has brought me back to uk.a.c.m to see if there's
any interest in some old Apple stuff.
I have the following computer, owned from new, in need of a good home.
It has been in storage for a while as it does take up quite a bit of
room. Any interest and I'll un-box and give it a test:
Apple 5500/225
256kb L2 cache
128mb ram
CSII ethernet card
USB pci card
Built in 15" screen
Original ADB keyboard and mouse.
All original manuals, stickers and software, eg: OS8, Actua Soccer,
Kai's Power Goo etc etc.
Everything packaged in the original box. It's almost like new!
The only problem with the computer is the power switch on the back no
longer works and is permanently in the "on" position.
No HD installed. Not sure I have one any longer either but takes any IDE
hard drive up to 120gb in size. Runs OS9 well.
Boxed software on floppy disc(s):
Claris Filemaker Pro (usa)
Norton Utilities v3.1
Norton Utilities v3
Dantz retrospect remote v3
Symantec AV 3.5 crossgrade
Symantec AV 4.0 crossgrade
Omnipage direct 2.0
Mac Os 7.5
MS Office 98 Upgrade (on some new fangled thing called a "CD").
Some, err, "vintage" hardware:
Supra Express 28.8 ADB modem
US Robotics 14.4 modem
Apple plaintalk microphone
And a box of old Macformat CDs (with magazines, I think)
I would like to swap some, or all, of the above for an Apple tower as I
need something that will fit under a desk, that will play nice with my
scsi film scanner, and has VGA out.
I realise this is a bit of a long shot but figured it was worth a go.
I am located in county Durham in the north east.
Tom.
