Advice please: MacBook Pro
Hi.

I have a MacBook Pro (17", Core 2 Duo 2.5, 2GB Ram, 250GB Hard Disk). I
think it's about 6 months old - unmarked apart from fingerprints on the
screen.

To cut a long story short, it has come from a very well known footie player.
I run an IT company, I went to connect his Xbox to the internet in the hotel
he's living in while he has a new house built. He gave me the Mac to give to
another client of mine (the person building his house). She doesn't want it
and wants to sell it and get a Windows PC.

I'm tempted to keep it for myself and make an offer to my client, and I must
say that Macs sure have changed since I last had a go on one about 15 years
ago! I've learnt a lot in the week or so that I've had it!

So any ideas of the value of this please? I've had a look on Ebay and seen a
couple for around £1k but with no bids. Unfortunately there are no disks or
boxes - just the Mac and the mains adapter. It was given to me in a Sergio
Tachini (spelling?) kit bag thing.

I believe there's an updated model out now with higher resoloution screen,
more RAM, better CPU etc., so I assume that will affect this one.

Thanks for any info. It'll probably end up being offered on here - I just
need to know a ballpark figure first.

I appreciate that this could easily sound like a very dodgy Mac but I can
assure you that it isn't - the story can be verified, by the property
developer and by the player.

Thanks.
Dave. (reply address needs modifying)
