FF: old (OS9) Apple Mac equipment
I have several years' worth of old Apple Mac equipment to dispose
of, some of which may be suitable for a beginner art/graphics student
until they can afford something better. I haven't itemised everything
as it's currently in the loft but as a rough idea the items include
things like:

- Power Mac 7300/200 with G3 processor upgrade - OS9, might run OSX
slowly. Was used by professional artist until about 3 years ago.
- Power Mac 8600/200 (OS9 only)
- Power Computing clone (too slow for graphics, just about OK for
web/email/word processing)
- SCSI Zip100 drive and as many disks as you want
- SCSI Yamaha CD-RW
- SCSI Syquest EZ135 drive and disks
- SCSI Syquest 80MB drive and disks
- 2 x Serial A4 Wacom graphics tablets & pens
- 1 x ADB Wacom Artpad
- Serial 28k Motorola modem
- Serial switch box
- Alcatel broadband router (wired, 1 port)
- All kinds of other old stuff, books etc
- One or two 17" Dell monitors (CRT, not flatscreen)

If anyone is interested in any/all of this, let me know and I will
provide more info on request. No software supplied except the OS that
came with each machine. All items are free to the taker - you can
collect in person (south Croydon, Surrey) or I will ship if you pay for
postage.

Hello Debbie

I'm looking to get hold of an external Syquest drive. The disks I have
are 44MB and 88MB and I didn't know there was an 80MB version. I'm
wondering if there was a typo here? If you've still got it, would you
mind having another look please.

Thanks

Keith

Hi Keith, I have just checked and it was a typo - it's an 88MB drive.
It's yours if you would like it! I also have three 44MB cartridges, and
a Syquest EZ135MB drive with six 135MB cartridges - any interest in
those?

Are you within reach of Croydon, south London? I could also possibly
deliver to central London next time I'm up there.

If not, I am happy to post if you pay for postage - the only caveat is
that I no longer have a machine I can test these SCSI devices on before
sending, but they were working when I put them in the loft several years
ago.

Look forward to hearing from you and best wishes

Debbie.

Re: FF: old (OS9) Apple Mac equipment
Hi Debbie

Very kind of you and thank you very much. I'm sorry I've haven't been
able to get back to you sooner but I've been away from my desk for a
couple of days.

I'd like to take you up on all of your kind offer and I'm trying to
arrange a London drop off. If that fails, I'll go for the postage
method and pay beforehand.

How come you got so much old Mac stuff, are you a graphic designer, or
illustrator perhaps?

Many thanks

Keith

OK - let me know. I'm not up in London that much to be honest but next
Weds afternoon is a possibility for a central London pickup, otherwise,
I am based in Croydon (South London) not far from M25 jcts 6 and 7.

Yep - been a freelance illustrator for 14 years so have accumulated a
lot of old Mac stuff over that time!

Hi Deb

I'll probably go down the postage route as that sounds a bit easier on
all. Could you possibly let me know what the approximate cost is going
to be please and then I can arrange payment to you (cheapest possible
please). It's just that I have some old files on Syquest disk that I
think I should be archiving properly - just in case!

I've had a look at your website and know I know where to go if I need
any botanical or medical illustrations done - (I'm a graphic designer
down in Cornwall).

Once again, many thanks.

Keith

Always a good idea. I will weigh it all and let you know the postage
options/prices. Did you want the EZ 135 drive and disks as well or just
the 88MB drive? The EZ drive is small but has an incredibly heavy power
supply. It doesn't take the large 88/44Mb cartridges, only its own 135Mb
ones. The 88Mb drive does of course take the 88MB and 44MB carts.

Thanks! Out of interest, whereabouts in Cornwall are you located? We
will be in the Bodmin area for a week mid-October so that's a
possibility if you are anywhere near there - we could maybe drop the
items in to you?

If you prefer, you can email me privately on debbie@zoobotanica.com to
chat further about this.
