WTD: Intel Mac Laptop
Hi all,
A friend is currently in the market for an Intel Mac laptop. Her budget
is around £400-500 to include shipping.
What's out there? :)
Thanks,
Dave

Seconded. Having just bought a refurb myself, I'm very happy with it.
They get mechanically reconditioned so they're like new (mine had a new
battery in it for a start), and they supply them as though they were
new, all accessories, discs and manuals are supplied.
I had been pondering over some on eBay, but at that sort of cost, it
wasn't a lot more to get one properly refurbished with a year's warranty
from Apple. Some were actually more expensive on eBay too.
Spend the little extra if you can, it'll be worth it IMHO.

Thanks for the recommendation guys, but that's far out of her price
range unfortunately.

Fair enough. In which case you'll probably get a MB off eBay for around
that. Just be wary that you most likely won't get any warranty.
I've also noticed they seem quite highly priced compared to what you can
get on the refurb store.
Also beware that there are a few non-UK models floating about there -
I've seen at least one from the US, one Italian, and there's a few from
the far east too. They should be OK, but you might find strange
keyboards, or even incompatible power adapters.

I may have a black core duo macbook. I've offered it to someone else,
but I don't think they're taking it.
It's this one http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook/stats/macbook_2.0_black.html
with the ram upgraded to 2GB
Still under warranty (just - but means you could get applecare) and in
good condition. Boxed and complete.
Looking for £400 plus postage.
