WTD: dual DVI AGP graphics card
Looking for am AGP graphics card, must have dual DVI outputs and must be
ATi or Matrox. No nVidia, thanks.

I'm not a gamer so it doesn't need to be a speed demon. Would like it
to be able to handle full screen video and run Google Earth well. I'm
not very well up on ATi card naming but it looks like an
X1300/X1600/X1800. somewhere in that ballpark, would do the trick.

It has to be able to run dual 20" LCD monitors and span the desktop
across them.

W.H.Y.?

interesting that you dont want an Nvidia card, i am having trouble with
the FX5500, in setting up a Benq HD monitor, windows just keeps on
falling over, is it the drivers do you think and is that why you
dont want one?

Cheers andrew

I've got a 6600GT on a Via K8T800 Pro chipset running eXpee. If asked
to work hard it locks up the machine randomly. It's fine in 2D mode,
but even running MSN Messenger with the webcam open and simultaneously
watching BBC iPlayer could be chancy. I couldn't even run any of the
3DMark benchmarks to completion, including the early ones (3DMark2000,
2001, etc). There's a lot of complaints about this particular
combination of hardware not working well if you search google. I don't
overclock.

Have spent some time today with the machine and various suggestions from
google. Have increased the AGP aperture, removed the graphics card
heatsink and re-fitted with Arctic Silver, and nudged up the AGP voltage
from 1.5 to 1.6 in BIOS, and it is now much better. It'll run 3dMark05
and the earlier ones to completion but not 3DMark06.

Basically, I'm fed up with the flakyness and want a reliable card,
therefore no more nVidia shite.

No, I'm sure it is hardware related in my case.
