WTB: 3 pin to 4 pin Molex adaptor
I bought an 80 mm case fan with a three pin connector. Unfortunately,
the lead was too short to reach the connector on the motherboard. So I
need either an adaptor to convert the fan to a Molex connector model,
or an extension lead to take the three pin lead to the motherboard.
Can anyone either supply me with one of these, or suggest a company
that might supply me with one.

Thanks.

But I'd probably just splice in some extra bits of wire.

I was in exactly the same position as the OP a couple of weeks back and had
to use the 3pin to Molex adaptor that came with the fan. Unfortunately this
means that you lose the motherboard's fan monitoring functions.

The 3pin extension lead looks extremely useful. I guess splicing the
original fan leads is an option but would end up costing me in purchasing
the copper wire!

Thanks for the links, Rob.

My fan only has two wires: no speed sense as I'd hoped it would. So I
lose nothing going over to a Molex solution.

I keep broken electrical/electronic stuff so I can scavenge useful bits
from it. :-)
