Does anyone know if virgin have closed the alt.binaries.multimedia
group,  there have been no new posts since the 5th.

I was just able to subscribe to it bu there don't appear to be any posts

Giganews shows over 99 million live headers for this newsgroup!   And no, I 
didn't bother to download them so I don't know how many are recent.  The 
potential bandwidth involved for this many binary postings is potentially 
staggering.   No wonder that Virgin have dropped it.

thank you both for looking and replying.
yeah its a big group,  and giganews hold a long retention, virgin
however used to retain postings for less than a week so cant be so
much of a overhead.  
I suspect it was more to do with their recent campain on copyright
piracy, which coincided with their launch into the commercial mp3
market.
