Just found you
Hi to old and new friends.
I'd given up on the Virgin groups, but just found this one.
I went over to virgin media via cable early in the year. NO probs so
far with b-b and the guys who connected it were excellent.
Speed stays just over 2 mb. I was so fed up with how slow the old
virgin.net b-b was getting. Never up to 2 mb.
However I'm paying more than I need to, as I signed up for b-b and
phone but went back to BT as I didn't like a couple of things about
the Virgin phone.
Any advice on good packages? I don't want their TV.

Hi Pam,
Good to hear from you again, thought you'd got lost. The virgin groups
have all gone as a result of the new news server. Their place has been
taken by a whole range of virginmedia groups including some that carry
service announcements for cable users.
As to good packages I can't help. I should look I suppose but I'm on the
1Mb package which just works as advertised and am reluctant to change.
This area was never cabled so that is not an option. What didn't you
like about VM's phone service as I've been tempted. Someone here (John?)
has it and was happy with it afaik.

Hi Alec
It was rather specific things about the phone, the first rather petty.
1. Answerphone cut in after only 5 rings, BT does 8 and Virgin wanted
me to pay extra to change it to 8.
2. Being visually impaired I have a box like caller display but it
speaks the number calling. Virgin would not support that.
3. Cost of calls seemed to be higher.
So now I'm paying Virgin more, and also paying BT.
Cheers
Pam
