Callers refusing to tell me where there calling from?
Hi,
I cant find any info at all on google so i thought i'd ask on here.
I tend to want to know who's calling me before i say im that person.
I recently came across a few calls that say they cannot tell me where they
are calling from and when i ask why they just say its just a private matter.
Is it legal for a caller to refuse to tell me where they are calling from
before i say who i am?

If you don't know who is calling what are you going to do about it if it
is illegal, which I doubt?
Just refuse to tell them who you are.

Sounds a little odd - do you owe anyone money?

Yes, although if they are trying to call you they should ask for you by
name.

Re: Callers refusing to tell me where there calling from?
My phone, a resonable old Panasonic with message recording and caller
display, distinguishes between callers in its phone book and others by the
type of ringing it emits. So I can ignore unknown callers, mostly sales
persons. Real callers, not in the machines phone book, will always leave a
message.
