Stagecoach proposes cross Forth hover link

"TRANSPORT giant Stagecoach said today it could have a hovercraft
ferry service up and running between Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy by late
2007."

"The company plans to use 150-passenger BHT150 hovercraft with a
cruising speed of 35 knots. The craft can operate in seas with waves
up to two metres and would be able to make the crossing in 20
minutes."

"Stagecoach believes its former bus depot in Kirkcaldy would be an
ideal terminal at the Fife end, with a beach area on the East Sands
of Leith serving the Lothian side.
