Re: New Sushi Takeaway Business - Opinions wanted
Thanks for your opinions guys; it seems there are a lot of sushi lovers out
there but still a lot of negative opinion.

My belief is that Yo! failed in Edinburgh because it was in a poor location
(yes - despite being in the centre of town), but also because of crazy
prices - if you think a California Roll (with fresh crab and Tobiko) cab be
produced for as little as 60 pence.

It was also not a genuine 'Takeaway' which it was I am proposing.

Still food for thought - so thank you!

I don't think that there is the market for it in Edinburgh, frankly.
There are sushi outlets dotted all over town and there are never queues
to get into them. My own favourite is the No 1 Sushi Bar in Home Street,
which does a fair imitation of the California/Vancouver style you are
talking about. One recommendation is that it is populated by Japanese
during the Festival, but it's fairly empty off season.

Well the other thing that didn't help was that the place was empty and
that meant you had lots and lots of little pots of sushi whirling round
and round for eages at a time, which meant that the food never had that
'straight off the board' feel to it.
