What are the best fixings for attaching kitchen base cabinets and wall 
cabinets to plasterboarded stud walls?

Timber strapping along the top and bottom.  Fix the straps to the timber
studs behind the plaster-board, then fix your cabinets to them.  The timber
straps need to be strong enough to hold a cupboard load of tins.
