Metro 1.4 Diesel
Can anyone give me a rundown on how to adjust the cold engine fast idle on
this car?? Would be much appreciated. I have tried to get hold of a manual
but have had no luck.

Cheers

buy the manual for Citroen ax diesel, the engine is the same, I never had
much luck adjusting my wife's metro diesel by the book, and ended up doing
it by ear and feel, but I could hunt out the book for the instructions if
you don't want to buy one.

I haven't a clue how to do it, but it's the same engine as used in the
Citroen AX and Peugeot 106 (the ones before they became 1.5 diesels), so a
manual for one of those cars, or one specific to that engine may help.

There is ( I Think), but I was talking about the basic adjustment on the
linkage and cable, the thermo unit should then do the rest provided its
working properly.

the cable, when its cold it should idle faster, if its too fast then loosen
the cable some more, but for sure there should be some loose in the cable
when warm . Hope it helps, little or no useful info on this in Haynes.

Thanks Steve, that is the info I have been looking for. I wasnt sure if the
slack on the cable should be when warm or cold.
