AIUI they are saying that 10% of Boddies is still brewed in Manchester. So
90% is keg then? Sigh!

there's a piece on ThePublican.com - see here -
http://tinyurl.com/bw8f2

it has some cracking quotes from InBev on the defensive (yes, I know!)

The InBev spokesperson to me also seems to suggest that Boddies is
brewed only in the NorthWest (i.e. cask beer at Hydes, and the keg at
former Whitbread, now InBev/Interbrew in Salmesbury, Lancs rather than
Magor, S.Wales as previously mentioned) anyone know what the truth is?

<< . . . Interbrew has hit back arguing that through its decision to
move the brewing of all cask Boddingtons to the Hydes brewery in
Manchester, it has managed to keep hold of some of the brand's
Mancunian identity.

A spokeswoman from Interbrew UK said: "This is a case of damned if we
do and damned if we don't. If we made no reference to Manchester and
the North West in our advertising we would be accused of turning our
backs on the city and region altogether.

"The closure of the Strangeways brewery was regrettable but
necessary, and the reasons for that difficult decision have already
been widely reported.

"The fact is that Boddingtons is still brewed in the North West, and
cask Boddingtons is still brewed in Manchester. The brand is Mancunian
through and through because that's where the brand developed its
personality and popularity - and that's as relevant today as it was
in previous years.">>

I just read elsewhere on thepublican.com that InBev & SAB want to join
the NOFIBs (National Organisation For Imported Beers - a trade group
promoting authentic imported beers) - just in case you need reminding
they're the companies brewing amongst others Welsh Belgian Stella &
Polish Czech Pils Urquell ;~)

No, I don't understand either.
