That gives folks an idea of when to steer clear of the place. You can't
get parked for love nor money. When I first knew Mr P, my mother gave
him a room (mine) with a window which opened less than 50 yards from the
Skiddaw Street Tent, back in the days when there was one. He was rudely
awakened by cheerful praise and fellowship at some godforsaken hour.

Hmmmmm...... I once stayed for a few nights in a 50p-per-night hotel in
Cairo, a few yards from the nearest mosque. The call to prayer was a
tape recording -- and a bl**dy loud one at that -- and it started at
3am

That's unforgivable. Mind you, I'd say a tape recording could sound better
if that's possible, especially after being stamped on.

I can see he would be in need of a lot of tlc after such an awful ordeal.
Did he appreciate it. Did he deliver the goods? cough!
