A posting question for the group.
Would anyone have any objections if I dropped an "advert" for mole,
squirrel and feral cat eradication once in a while? About twice a
month.
All the ad would consist of would be my name and telephone number and
a short description of cost. I'd make sure the subject line said
summat like Garden pest control so as the message can be skipped if
required.
Suggestions would be appreciated.
cheers
regards
Logan.

Yeah, I second that. Feral cats - send them to me. I'll give them a warm bed
and catfood. I had no idea people actually got paid for despatching the poor
wee blighters! And even grey squirrels deserve to live. It's not their fault
they're not red. Or do you eradicate red ones too? Heaven forfend....
Moles are ok, but not in our garden. I'd like someone to catch them and take
them 20 miles away and let them free on the fells or someplace. Not kill
them.
There's room on this planet for all types of creatures. Live & let live. I
might even let the Logan live....
.... this isn't a wind-up, is it?

Well, it was X-posted to UKL-Hampshire so I guess it is.
When I worked in The Shipyard chem labs years ago it was illegal to harm a
feral cat and when we started to have problems in the labs with cats getting
in through the hydraulics tunnels there was talk of a cull. Most folk were
up in arms. I took a kitten home. Did my bit. It's a long story but it's
late....
Our department spent thousands making it cat-proof. The problem was that a
cat walking along a workbench with various acids etc. shelved was a
potential fire risk. Granted it would have been cheaper to round 'em up and
ship 'em out but there was talk of euthanasing. Most of us had a fave
moggy.... I ended up with two of her babies eventually...

Beautiful gloves were made from kid skin and mole skin in the past, for fine
ladies with parasols. I inherited several pairs.I have always thought of
moles with affection as being nice little animals in need of specs who
fertilize the soil and push up little mounds.I wish to gather Bluebells and
Margarites again and pick Primroses on Copras Hill and count mole hills and
fish for minnows in the stream up at Ellerbeck. I want my childish carefree
happy life back.I want.

A relative of mine from way back yonder among lots of petticoats and
gorgeous long dresses, was a mole catcher for an haberdashery on Kirkgate in
Cockermouth in the good old days of way way back.

Never mind feral cats, our barely domesticated ones killed a red squirrel
last week. I nearly took the gun to them, then thought of the mouse damage
in the lofts and basements.
the bastards also have a penchant for pied wagtales, lovely trusting little
birds, but a bit dim.
Ah well time to wrap them up and put collars on them.

Yeah, don't we all? No can do, luv.
Moles are a real pest to gardeners and destroy lawns and flowerbeds with gay
abandon. But I wouldn't sentence them to death for it. They're only doing
what moles do. And they are quite beautiful, though being more or less blind
I guess they're quite unaware of this.

I could imagine that the ironmonger might have a resident molecatcher
