Theband's back
eheheheh. They all came home like run out dish cloths, especially Orly. They
went 24 hours without sleep. They left rumours lingering on the Farsund
grape vine that that was the best party Farsund has ever had. There were 40
or more people there. It was Orly's brother's birthday who turned 30 years
of age. Their youngest sister jumped up onto the stage and sang chorus on
Mustang Sally which was described as awful intoxicated. My son stood on
stage and said to Orly,
"What a lot of pregnant women here." The south is known for it's religious
influence and nothing to do in the winter.
At 4 in the morning they had got as far on their home journey as
Kristiansand where they stopped for hot dogs. My son, desperate as he is,
found the girl behind the counter sweet and lovely ad expressed his
thoughts, again.
"I think I must come down south a bit more often," he said to her and one of
the lads replied with,
"You'd better hurry up before she gets pregnant." Cors, that was the sign
for the laughing powder to punch in, again.
By the time they got to Porsgrunn the old van gave up on them. They had to
keep filling it with water to get it as far as Larvik where there was a
garage with an add outside that stated - we sell all car parts for all
cars-open 10 am. So they stood there in the van for one hour waiting for the
fellow to come and open the place. A car drove in, a man stepped out, opened
the opened door, bought something, then left. The garage was already open
and they all felt like durned fools sitting waiting an hour for the owner to
come open shop.
Orlando had big round eyes when he came home and couldn't stop talking. I
fed him 4 eggs and a handful of vitamins and put him to bed, slapped his
bare backside and tucked him in. In 10minutes he'll be up again and off to
Holmestrand to rig up for another group as sound technician tonight. I'm
supposed to be ready by then, oh blimey.
Solong.
Edith.

Seems they all enjoyed themselves, Ally. I bet there would have been more
tales to tell if I were a fly on the wall down there ;)
But a 6 hour journey that took twelve because of the van, after a 13 hour
shift then Orly, after 2 hours sleep, went on a 10 hour shift again, well,
he's oblivious to the world at the moment. I had a good time last night, got
in a few dances, great music too. The band, named "Bullmilk" are off to
Denmark in 3 weeks time for the Roskilde festival.
The band, the bouncers and (I, carrying the little things) helped Orly pack
the (smaller borrowed van) in the early hours of this morning, were finished
one hour earlier, me in front seat with a great big thingy beside me,
squashed in like a blooming sardine (part of the charm) Orly topping the
trip with "I feel like a zombie," and me tittering the rest of the journey.
Edith-still, homesick.

Re: Theband's back
Steve's band had a gig up at Wasdale Head last night - at a beer festival.
Sounded like fun, but when they got there the hotel was surrounded by fire
engines with flashing lights. Seems there had been a fire and everything was
cancelled. However, they'd driven a long way to play, and didn't want to
give up too easily, so eventually they found another place down the road
where they set up and played for the rest of the evening. Instead of staying
overnight at the hotel they had to drive home very late. Not quite as bad as
Orly's trip, but a long night all the same.
