I need to use an acoustic sealant to seal around my plasterboard ceiling.  I 
live in the bowels of Cornwall & nobody has ever heard of this amazing 
newfangled product here.  I ve looked on the net that they all seem to be 
intumescent sealant which as a by product have acoustic properties also, but 
I do not need a fire proof sealant, just a sound proof one.  It seems to be 
an acrylic non-drying mastic that I need, and I was wondering if I could use 
roof and gutter sealant which is a bitumen based non-drying mastic.  Any 
body any experience of these mastics?
