I wonder what has happened to him, Johnny. Perhaps he's so old after his
last birthday that he can't follow us on uklc any more, poor sod.

What do you think of Noni, Johnny?

It depends. Some are good for you the way fresh fruit is good
for you. Others are just scams. I can't tell from the website as
it is in Norsk what this product contains.

A good scientist would experiment with it if there was some
promise to it and no obvious flim-flam. Try to determine if
there is a measurable benefit or noticble side-affect. Then
continue or discontinue depending on the results of the
experiment.

I hope your experiment goes well. What you need now is another
old lady with joint pains to take a placebo.

Have you tried glucosamine/chondoitrin? It's a very popular,
over-the-counter supplement here in the States, and a relative of mine,
with early rheumatoid arthritis, says that she noticed a significant
improvement in her symptoms with this.

Hei Jinny.
Thanks. I'll try buying this at the chemist. If they don't know what it is,
I'll try the health shop. I'll just put it on my shopping list then check
with the good fellow Jeeves.

Hey it's the gloomy weather to blame I think. Yesterday was glorious and
today it's driech & wet.

What sort of serious things would you like to discuss? Death? Taxes?
Politics? Football? If so, you can count me out. Have they put a slope on
your verandah yet to let the water drain away?

No, Ally. It's worse than ever. Honest. They've stopped work on it. I can
feel my hair turning grey.

The days serious thing was that I've found out that the bark of the pine
tree is 'very' antioxidant. Yippeee. I'm off to find a pine tree to gnaw on,
(soon)

In the meantime-fried chicken and rice with a sallad for dinner today.

Nix. Thanks tho'. It's a job for our leader and he is (something ) tained.
I've pulled a lot of my hair out and cut it all wrong again and I've just
received my phone bill, 90 just to be a customer and 50 usage = 140,- for
two months. The rotten 90 is a rotten mafio rip off to be sure.
Otherwise, Orly is working in Kongsberg-you would all like that town-there's
a healthy strong river running thro' it-and sob-sob-Orly is going to Farsund
tomorrow with the band to play at his brother's 30th birthday. I'll be alone
most of the weekend.
It's a 6x2 hours journey with only a few hours sleep in-between time and my
back refuses to take the journey.

Well I wish I could magic you along to our gig tomorrow night. Belfagan are
dancing at the Rosehill Barn where the folk club that used to be in
Cockermouth, then moved to Embleton, has now relocated. We seem to have more
or less all our available musicians at once (quite unheard of!) so it'll be
a huge band - probably more musicians than dancers.

Oh well... why don't you paint something while you're all alone? I haven't
heard you talking about your artwork for a while.

its really only a 15 minute drive but with you-know-who navigating it can
easily stretch to 6 hours

I'd have enjoyed the big bang on Rosehill.

Orly said the same thing. Not wanting to say *veranda* agin, oh balls, my
painting room is packed with garden furniture, old cooker, fridge, old
hoover, drawers, desk, planks, oh dear, I'm feeling dizzy and my flat has
new laminat on the floors so I daren't paint in there, swoon, I'm getting a
touch of a mixture of claustrophobia and rage again.
Even when I lay plastic on the floor I manage to get paint marks somewhere.
My kitchen table is full of plants that should be outside too. Gees, I aint
'appy.I feel like eloping. War's the good old days when nothing seemed
complicatad. When I only owned 5 things. A blanket, a cow, a pair of
slippers, my specs and Orly.

Rofl. It's a 1 hour drive if you kick down the accelerator-thank the gods
for spelling checks-and I think I could find my way there on my own, given a
day or two. I can point to which way the North Pole is, I think.

Acceloratingly, Edith.

The cooker and the fridge work. I've tried giving them away but no one wants
them so they'll go to recirculation. They are red in colour :0( ....They
were given to me when I moved from my previous flat and my brand new German,
(everything matching) AEG washing machine, tumble dryer, cooker and dish
washer all white, new and shiny. The tall fridge has no freeze box. It's
perfect in a shed full of beer bottles....erm...that didn't come out right.
Oh, never mind. The cooker is also of quality. My hoover has been kindly
taken off my hands by one of Orly's bands and will spend the rest of it's
days hoovering up blood sweat and tears, a few guitar strings., some swear
words and a few pickers there where they practice, I imagine. Dragging it
around on no wheels was driving me bonkers, blu88y thing.
The drawers : I may pull out all the drawers and build shelves with what's
left. That's fun. Coooourse, Orly won't think so.
The planks : I'll knock the planks back up on the walls out on the *V*
daraan, when it's done and what's left will go to my son's wood burner.I'll
lay down the plastic mats again 18 kvadrat meters, when the *V* is finished
and put the garden furniture OUT.

Now the room is half empty. Anyone wanna buy a pot sink, an old PR thingie,
a Christmas plastic tree, flower pots, silk flowers, picture frames, some
old stiffened wall paper glue, some old wall paper, uuuuuuuuuuurgh! thingies
to hang up curtains, some stiffened paint boxes, (lavender and gray/blue), a
few left over laminat plates and yukk I feel sick.

Edith.

You never know where some great entertainment might be lurking.
We went with friends to see their kids perform at their HS
spring concert last night. We had been to our own kid's spring
concert (different HS) last week. So we figured it would be
about the same. But this school (much larger than our kid's
school) put on a three hour concert with three bands, four
choirs and a performance art group (which was what we wanted to
see actually). It was remarkable. Well stage-managed and
terrific integrated computer graphics. I particularly enjoyed
the choirs. From Zulu to classical to bee-bop. And the
performance art group is a Stomp-like thing and absolutely
professional - nothing school/amateurish about it. I think it
pays to be young and fit to do that stuff.

My daughter said she'd like to switch schools. Their school has
a better jazz band but that's about it.

Get out there and support your local school kids even if they
are not your own. It's amazing what they are doing these days.

You owned a cow? Wow! That's something I don't see every day. I saw some
real black and white Fresian cows on Thursday in the Catskills.

Shagging in Woolies? No, no, I'm sure we'd have taken our jumpers off first.
Too scratchy.

A Woolie shag.? That sounds like it's be banged on a shelf and forgotten. My
Grandad bought his shag. On t'corner across from t'Ritz and he didn't
scratch either. They didn't in those days.

In Finlay's it was sold loose, ready rubbed (that's standard).

Re: Birthday?
The common cormorant, or shag,
lays eggs inside a paper bag.
The reason, you can see no doubt:
it is to keep the lightning out.
But what those unobservant birds
have failed to notice, is, that herds
of wandering bears may come with buns,
and steal those bags, to fill with crumbs.

(One of my favourite poems taught to me by my dad when I was very small.)

This message was rejected first time round. I changed the comma at the end
of the third line to a colon and off it went. Does this German usenet place
only allow posts with good punctuation through? That would sort out all
those semi-literates out there! Ha!

I'm just glad he didn't teach you that the bears put their buns in the bags.

Off to brush my teeth
