Sir Elton John is a living musical legend. The British singer, who learnt to
play piano aged four and won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music
when he was eleven, was the most successful pop artist of the Seventies, and
has continued to be a hit with fans. Known for championing good causes
almost as much as for his music, he was identified in the Sunday Times as
the most generous of the country's rich, having given 12 per cent of his
fortune to charity.
As vice-chairman and a lifelong supporter of Watford Football Club, Elton
John is due to give a one-off concert at the Vicarage Road ground on
Saturday, June 18. The gig, from which all proceeds go to the club, has
already sold out, but we have five pairs of VIP tickets to give away, as
well as pre-concert champagne and canaps, plus a programme and transport to
and from the venue.
