Howdy folks,

Does anyone know of any good places for sourcing half decent summer jobs, 
specifically in the IT sector e.g database maintenance, technician positions 
etc?

This is for a 2nd yr comp sci undergrad.

I was in your position last year and tried to look for the same level of IT
job but coudnt find anything. The jobs you have mentioned are mainly
permanent based and I doubt they would take on an undergraduate knowing that
they are going to return in September.
My advice is to sign up with recruitment agencies like I have done and try
and get some data entry, hardware/software, general IT position. May not be
a great job but at least its only temporary and gets you a bit of cash.
Furthermore, you also gain some IT/Office experience as well.
