All that does for me is throw  the pop up blocker into a strop. Or is
that what it's supposed to do?

Touch  - after I  accused you of living in the past. The snag is far
too many  sites  only support IE.

My daughter works (well, at least for the next five days she does) for
a major software company, and she specialises in web services. When
the last product was in development she started to run tests on other
browsers and was told to stop wasting company time because "everybody
uses IE".
