Bingo players pick up their jackpot prizes
A Glasgow bingo hall gave customers something to cheer about when it dished
out a massive jackpot win.

Belle Walker, from Livingston, and Kathleen Quinn, from Partick, were
ecstatic when they each received a cheque for 833 from bingo bosses.

The women were among 1200 lucky players who shared part of a 1million
jackpot prize.

Customers from Oban, Manchester, London and Newcastle were at the Mecca
Bingo in the Forge, Parkhead, when the 18 numbers came up.

More than 500 clubs linked up to compete for the cash as part of Mecca's
Ground Shaker game.
And the Glasgow bingo hall players were the first to shout 'house'.

I was in the Worcester one that night - slightly smaller so we would have
had about 3,600 each. The Glasgow lot didn't half make a racket when their
numbers came up.
