General thrust:

"TRANSPORT chiefs today vowed to press ahead with plans for a new
600 million road bridge over the River Forth despite a storm of
protest."

"The Forth Estuary Transport Authority, the regional transport body
which operates the Forth Road Bridge, agreed to press "full steam
ahead" with the scheme to relieve pressure on the existing road
bridge."

"The scheme will still have to win the backing of the Scottish
Executive which is not thought to view the project as a priority."
