Braid
Bough some 20lb braid are there any tips on using this line ie special
knots. Is it ok to use a mono leader as with mono line?

Colion
I also bought some braid from my local tackle shop.
I knew there were special knots but not what they were.
No probs, the lads in the shop were more than helpful.
All I had to do was ask.
I couldn't describe the knots they showed me for tying the braid to both
nylon and braid to braid but they work.
May I suggest that you go back to the shop and ask for help.
Or did you buy it mail order?
Sometime it pays to shop locally and a cuppa in like minded company is
always welcome - I must remember to turn my mobile off next time tho'.
Its always my wife wondering where I am 'cos I said I was only popping round
there and would be about 10mins. Iswear I said 60 and that she has mis
heard me.

Re: Braid
Have a look at http://www.netknots.com/html/dbl_uni.html, use at least
5 turns in teh braid uni, and vary the number of turns in the mono
according to the breaking strain of the mono. Try a few practice knots
before you go fishing.

I find it useful to double the end of the braid before tying the braid
uni around the mono. If you want to get really clever, perhaps overly
so, you can tie a bimini twist in the braid, then tie the uni around
the mono with the loop produced, but that's for another day.

Good luck.
