ot warning ebay
I received this warning from a very helpful lady I have just bought a skirt
from (yes more clothes I really must stop!!!!) and thought you might be
interested:
-----------------------
Dear all on my list of recent buyers, sellers and friends who use Ebay
I have just had an email (below) which I now know is a spoof but it fooled
me and I have had to very quickly change my password.
It asked if I was still interested in the sellers item. The email address
looked fine, the email looked fine, and so I clicked on the link which took
me to an Ebay page asking for user ID and password. Again, this looked fine
until I entered it and it told me my details were incorrect. I knew they
WEREN'T and then I realised I had been spoofed and given my password away.
Obviously I changed it immediately. This is a BRAND NEW type of scam,
please be aware as it is extremely plausible.
Hope you didn't mind me emailing you but I felt it was such a dirty trick
that I should warn as many people as I know.
Kind regards
Vanessa

SO BEWARE ! It's crazy you really do need eyes at the back of your head
these days.

Re: ot warning ebay
This was probably a link which "looks" like it is going to eBay, but if you look at the status bar in Outlook express it will show the actual address that is linked.

Re: ot warning ebay
The old warning goes. NEVER click on a link in an email that says it is
from ebay or paypal. Always go in your usual way and check from there.
